Interesting topic Denise, I have always been fascinated with forensic nursing. In fact before I was accepted here at Touro, I was working towards an Anthropology degree and one of the classes I took for it was Human Osteology. My professor was a forensic anthropologist and I have go to say I loved that class. She worked with some forensic nurses and taught us some of their techniques, now of course we did not work with patients it was mainly looking at human bones and Identifying some of the mark left behind on them, because these mark would tell us how much trauma the bones went thru before the person died. After that I thought it would be kinda cool to do that but I still think emergency/trauma medicine is for me. Thanks for the post
Denise this is SUPER cool! I watch Law and Order: SVU religiously and I'm so fascinated at how much info the forensic people are able to tell the detectives just based on body markings, smells, and other things they find on the dead victims that would otherwise be overlooked. I also watch Monk (A LOT) and I guess it all just means that finding things out based on clues left behind is extremely interesting to me and it's good to know that nurses work in this field. This is something that I'd definitely be interested in!
This sounds great. I've always had an interest in forensics even though I don't know much about it. I have always found it interesting and now that I know there is a forensic nursing out there, it gave me another option to try it out. This just goes to show that there are so many choices to pick, from the nursing field.
this is a great topic...I am also very interested in this kind of nursing...now a days, it is getting popular now due to many shows in television... again...great career choice again in the future......
