Hey Guys, I made a blog for all. Join if you care, vent, help with positive thoughts or just talk about what you did this weekend when you had time for a life.
its easy to forget that they exist because of our own concerns and daily troubles. but it doesnt hurt to get reminded every now and then not only to feel bad or guilty but also to feel grateful of the kind of life that we have.
Like i said on the previous posting, it makes you speechless. I am grateful for what i have, but it doesn't make me feel any better knowing that someone out there has nothing. I see this kind of pictures all the time on tv and magazines. Sometimes i feel like just closing them and throwing it away, but it doesn't really help because it not only capture my eyes but my heart as well. Things like this gives me the strength and the motivation to finish what i am doing now and go out there and help those in need.
i agree marcos. i purposely didnt put a title or write anything when i posted the pic. it speaks for itself, and the pic alone will compel people to take a moment to count their blessings. maybe it will even provoke some to take a stand.
its not enough to just acknowledge that this is going on when it shouldn’t be. I think that acknowledgment without action is one of the major reasons that its still going on. I realize that though its not every persons destiny to be out on the mission field fighting starvation hands-on, I do believe every able bodied person is capable of doing something to help the fight against hunger.
No part is too small when lives are involved, and every ounce of effort counts just the same. It shouldn’t be a one-man show. It should be a movement.
We should be aware of all the suffering people around the world. Most of the world's is living under poverty and we should be thankful for the life we have. In addition to that we should also help others even in simple like donating money, even if its not much. What may be a couple of bucks for us might be food for a day for the people in poverty
This has got to be one of the saddest, heartbreaking photos I've ever seen!
I too am definitely grateful for what I have. I am hopeful that one day, I will have the chance to do my part in helping those in need - whether it be financially, or sharing what I have learned in nursing school by going out to different countries and helping provide healthcare to the sick and less fortunate.
I can only imagine what it must have been like to see this kind of suffering first hand. It is no question as to how this can drive someone into deep depression. I'm not saying that him committing suicide was justifiable, but I can see how having the desire to change things can drive someone to feeling helpless.
