Cardiac Disease

Check out the website for the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI)-www.nhlbi.nih.gov! It is a great resource for understanding heart disease. You can input data such a blood pressure, cholesterol levels, etc. into a program and get a calculation for the risk for having a heart attack. It is a great tool to use with friends and family members. Put your own data in. You might be surprised to find out what your risk is!

This is an awesome site that you've linked to. My family has a history of heart disease, and I am constantly reminding my mother to watch what she eats and am constantly encouraging her to increase her activity level to prevent any complications. This tool will be handy!

I also noticed that if you click on the Interactive Tools link - there are several links to programs that those of you with PalmOS and PocketPCs can download for free.
